Payment 101..201..301 for Online Gaming

Lecturer: Steve Klebe, Vindicia, Inc.

Taking payments online is still a relatively new phenomenon and is filled with anomalies galore. For merchants selling tangible goods, we have reached a point where the issues are fairly well understood. For merchants selling intangible goods, either one time type or subscription payments, that is much less the case, and when you add in the need/desire to take payments from people of all ages and geographies the challenges are never ending. As a merchant you will feel like you are playing a whack-a-mole machine.

This session, which is an update to the highly rated “Payments 101” session given by the same speaker at last year’s conference, will cover the following:

- Broad Facts & Figures
- Overview of the Payments Industry Players and Their Roles & Responsibilities
- Different Payment Types (Primary & Alternative, Including Mobile)
- Specific Issues Facing Digital Goods/Services Merchants
- Latest Trends in ePayment/Micropayments
- Suggested Resources
- Detailed Q&A session

Intended Audience: Senior Management, Finance Management, Product Management of existing or new games that already accept payment for either virtual items or premium subscriptions or intend to do so.
